What Dr. Ung would like you to know about her:

Through virtual care, I work with individuals of all ages, identities and backgrounds. I specialize in assessing and treating individuals challenged by autism, anxiety, OCD, depression, and related conditions. In addition, I have substantial experience consulting with the parents of children demonstrating compliance issues, disruptive behaviors, difficulties with emotion regulation, and anxiety. In particular, I enjoy working with children and their parents because I believe that effective treatment includes not only the child but the whole family unit. I approach treatment from a whole person care using a biopsychosocial model that considers the many contexts that make a client’s journey unique. I aim to facilitate a collaborative relationship with my patients where they can grow and heal, as well as become empowered and active participants in their lives. My goal for all my clients, young and old is to give them a voice and provide a non-judgement environment where they can be seen and heard.

What's something you'd like clients to know about Cadence?

"For many young children, a significant number of behaviors can be changed by working primarily with parents. At the core of problematic behaviors, a child may be asking, 'Do you love me? Do you see me? Do you care about me?' and it's on us parents to communicate 'Yes.' By starting with the foundational skills of a secure relationship (one based on mutual trust and respect), we can then begin to change the child’s behaviors that initially brought parents to therapy including tantrums, aggressive behaviors, and compliance issues."
