Karen David

Nutritionist, She/Her

Karen received her graduate degree from California State University Northridge where she specialized in dietetics and food science.

Karen loves collaborating with people by improving their relationship with food and their bodies.  The relationship with food is a mirror for how we approach the world.  If we can cause a shift in one area (how we approach and think about food) it will lead to changes in other areas.  Karen works with clients using a non diet, healthy at every size philosophy that can end the struggle with food.  She uses evidence based research to re-educate people so that they can understand why diets don’t work. She sets weekly goals with clients to help them feel successful and more at ease with food choices by offering nutrition education. Karen has over 20 years experience in private practice and is a former Director of Nutrition Services for an eating disorder program that offered outpatient and inpatient levels of care.  While there she developed the group curriculum for nutrition and created all policies and procedures for all levels of care with regard to nutrition, re-feeding and behavioral interventions to address unwanted food issues.

Karen is a certified mindful eating teacher through the University of San Diego and also has experience in teaching workshops on meditation and mindful eating at USC Keck School of Medicine and Insight LA.  In her spare time she can be found in gardening, hiking in the forest, knitting a sweater. or playing with her pups.
